Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

Purrline Pedigrees (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights. We follow UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and apply the same protections to users worldwide, including under EU GDPR and US state privacy laws such as the CCPA.

1. Data we collect

Account data: your name, email address and sign-in details (including from Google if you use Google sign-in).

Cattery data you enter: cat, litter, kitten, health, accounts, waiting-list and contract records, and photos or documents you upload. This can include personal details of your buyers (such as names, emails, addresses) that you add.

Billing data: your plan and payment status. Card details are handled directly by Stripe and never stored by us.

Messages you send through our contact form, and basic technical data (device, browser, pages visited) needed to keep the site secure and working.

2. How we use it

To provide the Service (contract: legal basis), take payments (contract), reply to your messages (legitimate interest), keep the Service secure and prevent abuse such as trial fraud (legitimate interest), and meet legal obligations such as tax records (legal obligation). We do not sell your data and we do not use your cattery records for advertising.

3. Buyer data you add

When you store details of your buyers or waiting-list contacts, you are the data controller for that information and we process it on your behalf. Please only add details you have a lawful reason to hold and tell your buyers how you use them.

4. Who we share it with

Trusted service providers who help run the Service: secure cloud hosting and database, Stripe (payments), email delivery, and an AI provider used only when you choose to scan a pedigree or use AI writing tools. Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

Public cattery pages and contract-signing links only show the information you choose to publish or send.

5. Retention

We keep your records while your account exists, including when it is view-only after a lapsed subscription, so nothing is lost if you return. If you ask us to delete your account we delete your records within 30 days, except data we must keep by law (for example billing records, typically 6 years).

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access to each breeder’s records is restricted to that account by database-level security rules.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. Contact us through our contact page and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as currency and your cookie choice. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

9. Children

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page.
